Working in the Schools

Working Hours

School starts at 7:30 am and ends 3:00 pm Monday through Friday. You are expected to be at school when it starts and to leave when it ends. In the time when you aren’t teaching you can prepare for you classes, check homework, work on projects for the Colegio, and do other assigned tasks.

Dress Standards

Semi-professional clothing (nice shirt and slacks) and dark closed-toed shoes is expected. You can buy nice polo shirts embroidered with the Colegio’s logo at the Colegio for about $8 or you can bring your own.

Number of Classes

Generally you teach between 2-3 classes a day. Sometimes you will teach a class alone and sometimes you team teach. Usually you have one class in each level of the school: pre-primaria (4-6 years old), primaria (1st through 6th grade), and básico/diversificado (7th through 11th grade).
